In my heart of hearts, I am an explorer.
Nothing makes me feel more alive than trying new things, experiencing new adventures, and being on a constant quest for change and making an impact.
My life was the exact opposite of that. I had been doing the same thing for years and living in the same location.
My life was routine but monotonous. I had lost my joy.
Since early in my life, I never wanted to be put into a “box.” But I found myself in my own trap. The same fears, insecurities, and doubts that I have had in my head for years remained with me, which were making me say no to the bigger, scarier, and more exciting dreams I had been burying for years.
I was comfortable on a path that now felt like it had been laid out for me. Too comfortable.
I questioned myself on a regular basis. I doubted what I was capable of, and I was still creating boundaries within my own mind which, I grew to learn, is the ultimate thing that can hold all of us back in life.
I could have stayed in the same location, doing the same work I had spent years studying for and $150,000 of student loans to thank.
But I knew that I wanted something more.
